CEO, Curio
Edward McGinnis is former Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy (Acting) at the U.S. Department of Energy and current president and CEO of Curio, an advanced nuclear infrastructure company whose core business is nuclear fuel recycling through its NuCycle®️ platform, generating long-term revenue via spent fuel processing, material recovery, and fuel management services for U.S. and allied customers. Since inception, the company has secured approximately $17 million in federal funding through competitive U.S. government programs and raised approximately $13 million in private-sector capital led by Synergos Holdings, complemented by a $10 million milestone-based funding commitment from the Synergos Fund structured through project-specific SPVs, providing strong capital durability and execution discipline. Curio has methodically raised capital in line with technical and commercial milestones, maintains no constraints on access to funding, and has the ability to rapidly mobilize additional capital as projects advance, reflecting a deliberate approach to building a scalable infrastructure business. In parallel, Curio is actively engaged with institutional banks in preparation for a Series A financing or potential IPO, with structure and timing to be determined based on project readiness and market conditions in Q1–Q2 2026.
